Glute Strength Exercises for Hip Stability and Maximum Distance for Golfers

Fitness is very important for golfers. From cardio to weight training, exercise helps golfers perform better and retain energy throughout their rounds.

Today, I am learning glute strength exercises from Greg Johnson, certified Titleist trainer, of Fit Golf Sacramento. Your glutes are one of the biggest muscles in your body. Therefore, they can create power especially if you work them the correct way. Greg shows us some exercises we can easily do at home or the gym with some simple equipment.

Band Walks are a great exercise for glutes. They are small movements yet killer! Bands usually cost around $10 and are an easy exercise you can do every day either at home or the gym.

Elevated Single-Leg Bridges are a common exercise, but as Greg shows us how to do them effectively. Keeping abs tight and engaged, you should focus on using your glute muscles to lift yourself up. You can use a chair or wall in your house, bench from a park, or blocks at the gym.

Weighted Hip Thrusts is a great exercise that uses a lot of weight and solely uses the flute muscles. You can use a bag or bar for your weight and either a chair or bench to stabilize your shoulders.

These exercises are great to gain some distance with your clubs and of course, tone up for bikini season! Sun's out, buns out!
